Donations from NEW Donors Matched

A matching grant through the National Christian Foundation is offered to new donors or donors who have not given in at least 12 months. Donations that qualify will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 through December 31.
If you believe in serving women who need help but you haven’t donated to A Friend's House, this is a great time for you to get involved. This matching grant is for you to take advantage of, and we only receive the funds that are matched.Read more

2011 Dessert Fundraiser Enjoyable

If you weren’t able to make it to our annual dessert fundraiser, you missed out. Not only were we in the lovely Rosewood on Main with scrumptious desserts, but we also heard a courageous young woman share intimate details of her life that she’s kept secret for many years.

Shara’s childhood involved a father who sexual abused her and a mother whose own control and jealousy issues prevented Shara from really knowing her siblings. After her parents divorced, she started self-injuring at age 16. As her addiction to self-injury deepened, so did her depression.

Matching Grant Maximized!

As of July 28, 2011, the $25,000 dollar-for-dollar matching grant for A Friend’s House was met. Individuals, businesses, community organizations and churches donated $29,286.96 since July 1, 2011, which totals $54,286.96 after the matching grant of $25,000.

All funds donated allow young women to receive the care and therapy they need at no financial cost to them.

$25,000 Matching Grant Offered

We are pleased to announce that some generous donors are offering to match each new donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000. To qualify for the matching grant, donations have to be new or above-and-beyond 2011 pledge levels. The match is offered July 1 through August 15, and we only get the funds that we are able to match.
