Operation Encompass<\/a>\u00a0is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse.<\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

In local areas signed up to Operation Encompass, the police must inform a \u2018key adult\u2019 at the relevant local school if they have been called to an incident of domestic abuse at a child\u2019s home before 9am the next morning, or before 9am on the Monday morning if an incident occurs over a weekend.<\/p>

This enables schools to provide support to the child(ren) involved and\u00a0to better understand the impact living with domestic abuse has upon children.<\/p>

We are encouraging all police forces in England to take up Operation Encompass and work towards making children safer by engaging with schools at the earliest possible point.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
