Developed with and endorsed by academic researchers, this framework provides decision-makers with clarity on the merits of different types of evidence and research, and the principles of integrity relating to research on domestic abuse.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d87dba elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"5d87dba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6fbcf7a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6fbcf7a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The framework brings together the knowledge and experience of both academic and NGO partners, drawing on feminist research practice since the 1970s.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Going back 50 years, the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0four federations emerged from the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0women\u2019s liberation movement and were largely survivor-led.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Each federation has\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">engaged<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, over recent decades,<\/span>\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"none\">in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">context- specific research<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">transform<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0policy, services, and the lives of women and children across the United Kingdom<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This framework recognises that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">those\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">engage<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0in collaborative research and evaluation have a responsibility to nurture sound<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, ethical<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0research and to discourage research practice that is unethical or misrepresents itself and\/or victims-survivors\u2019 experiences.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">framework sets out the critical\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">importance of grounding\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">research<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0on domestic abuse within the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0wider field of violence against women and girls<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">taking an intersectional approach\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ensuring that research focusing on\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">minoritised<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0groups should be carried out by researchers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0from<\/span>\u00a0<span data-contrast=\"none\">organisations led by those groups.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">The four Women\u2019s Aid federations\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">want researchers, organisations, journals, national and local policymakers, and commissioners to sign up to the five pillars set out in this
