Building on 2011's Financial Success

One year ago we shared that our income fell significantly short of our expenses. Thankfully, that is not the case for our fiscal year 2011 budget. Thanks to long-time faithful friends and many new ones, we can report that our income for 2011 came to $313,382, which is about 100.8% of our 2011 budget. In fact, the matching grant at the end of the year was maximized and raised just over $22,000!

The Lutheran Foundation Helps AFH

We are pleased to announce The Lutheran Foundation granted A Friend’s House $35,000 for operating expenses for 2012.

“The Lutheran Foundation strives to encourage non-profits to put measurements in place to gauge their success and strategically implement plans to achieve long-term goals. We are grateful for the confidence The Lutheran Foundation has placed in the program at A Friend’s House,” says Pam Durdahl, executive director.

Core curriculum - Help for Women

Core curriculum

A Friend's House offers women training on developing healthy relationships, managing emotions, handling anger, identifying lies we tell ourselves and exploring worldviews. Residents attend several therapeutic groups each day, and meet with a licensed therapist once a week. Read more

Every day through the week residents stay busy participating in 4-5 group sessions, exercising, meeting with their advocate, eating healthy meals, working on assignments and completing work details. Read more
